What is the small grants fund?
This grant is made possible through an agreement with the province of Manitoba and is administered by the Thompson Neighbourhood Renewal Corporation (TNRC). Funds are provided to local groups that support community building and community connecting projects that enhance the health and cohesion of our community. For example:
- Cultural events
- Community gardening projects
- Low income recreational activities
- Community beautification initiatives
- Programs that engage elders and seniors
- Mentorship/Apprenticeship programs for youths
- Programs that help assist in the area of community safety

FAQs
Successful grants will:
• Enhance the strength and cohesion of the community
• Emphasize community building / connection activities
• Have identified support of local residents
• Be sponsored by local groups (not individuals)
• Not be used for wages (honorariums are eligible***)
• Not be used for capital improvements to private property unless the property has been made available, free of charge, for community use and the improvements relate to the proposed community use
• Project must take place with the City of Thompson
[NOTE: Costs such as honoraria for facilitators are eligible while payments of stipends to participants
are not eligible.]
• Cover letter and quotes
• Complete the application – Section A to Section E
• Two (2) letters of support from a non-partnering agency or group
• Read and sign Reporting Requirements and agree to submit final reporting no later than 30
days after the project completion date
• The project must meet the goals and values of the TNRC.
• The project must be completed in the same year of applying.

Grants are available to groups and organizations located within the City of Thompson.

**NOTE**
Failure to complete the final reporting in full, will result in funds being returned, and will impact your future ability to receive any future grants through the TNRC Small Grants Fund for the period of one (1) year.
